How Psychodynamic Therapy Works

Psychodynamic psychotherapy is grounded in the understanding that our unconscious fears, desires, and needs often influence our everyday lives. Together, we will bring hidden feelings to the surface, allowing them to be experienced, reflected upon, and better understood.

Therapy offers you the time and space to:

  • Reflect on your experiences.
  • Understand how past events have shaped your current circumstances.
  • Develop insights that lead to lasting change and improved self-awareness.

Flexible and Tailored to You

If we agree to proceed after the initial session, I typically suggest starting with a minimum of six 50-minute sessions. After this period, we will review your progress and discuss whether further sessions would be beneficial.

Some people find that a short-term focus on coping strategies and tools is sufficient, while others seek deeper understanding over a longer period. I have worked with people for anywhere between six and over two hundred sessions, and I adapt the process to your unique needs and goals.
